Our efforts to improve IT facilities at Kolij received a welcome boost with the donation of 20 systems, made by Aron Truss. These Raspberry Pi computers are perfect for students learning programming and electronics.
But that’s not all!
Kolij was also given 20 robotic arms. After they are assembled, students will be able to write code to manipulate them. It’s a rare opportunity to work in robotics.
Our aim is to return to the school over the coming weekend and set the systems up, completing the second lab of 3, and to move a few systems into the third lab.
We’re still in need of approximately 25 systems to complete the final lab, but we’re getting there.
We’re also investigating leveraging wifi infrastructure which is already in place at the school and will be conducting preliminary work and planning over the weekend to that end. The aim is provide wireless internet access across the campus.
